From a spa to culinary retreats, to wine tasting and horseback riding, this ranch has all kinds of experiences perfect for a solo wellness getaway. The stargazing here is another bonus to the stay.

    The Springs Resort – Pagosa Springs, Colorado

    The Springs Resort is located in a historic hot springs town, and the accommodation is just steps away from geothermal springs with 13 minerals. You can also choose more affordable accommodation and get a day pass.

    There are 25 pools as well as a spa, plus daily wellness excursions and activities like yoga in the pools, sound baths, forest bathing and fitness centers. This area is also a dark sky location, meaning the stargazing is amazing.

    Crestone Mountain Zen Center – Crestone, Colorado

    Crestone Mountain Zen Center is a Dharma Sangha Center for Monastic Zen Practice and personal retreats. If you’re interested in learning more about Zen Buddhist practices, stillness and inner peace, this is a great choice. The location is on ground that is sacred to Native American tribes and Blanca Peak, a sacred mountain.

    The center offers a summer volunteer program, student stays and residencies, and they offer financial assistance.

    Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection – Aspen, Colorado

    Hotel Jerome is a great choice if you want to be in a ski destination, or if Colorado is close to you or you want to be in the mountains.     Outdoor activities in the winter include snowshoeing, coasting, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiles and more.

    As for wellness, they have a spa and offer yoga, a fitness center and even a luxury winter spa.

    Bluff Dwellings Resort & Spa — Bluff, Utah

    Bluff Dwellings Resort & Spa is centrally located near the Grand Circle National Parks, which include Arches National Park, The Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Mesa Verde and more. The HóZhó spa is modeled after the Navajo divine way of life which centers around finding balance, peace and goodness. There are treatments that use Southwest Native botanicals, full body massage, San Juan River Stone Massage and a HóZhó Body Glow Treatment, as well as facial treatments, nail treatments and more offerings.

    You can also go on tours with Wild Expeditions including river rafting, Monument excursions, private hiking and canyoneering and more adventures.

    Amangiri – Canyon Point, Utah

    Amangiri’s Utah location, and its sister Camp Sarika are located in untouched desert landscapes where you can get away and relax. There’s a 25,000 square foot spa and fitness center, plus a lounge and restaurant. There are mindfulness walks, elemental treatments and therapies, yoga and more that focus on using the power of nature for rejuvenation. Camp Sarika also includes private in-pavilion wellness and tailor-made outdoor adventures.

    Aman Resorts has locations in Utah, Wyoming, New York (with three floors for wellness and longevity) and more destinations.

    Red Mountain Resort – Greater Zion, Utah

    Red Mountain Resort is located in the midst of an amazing landscape where you can hike slot canyons and more. The resort is complete with a spa, fine dining, yoga and more fitness and wellness offerings. These include full body wellness, workshops including outdoor yoga sessions, an indoor fitness center with classes, personal training, pilates, acupuncture, meal planning, health assessments and more.

    Outdoor adventures include on-property activities like hiking and biking, plus off-site activities like exploring the three nearby National Parks.

    The Art of Living Retreat Center – Boone, North Carolina

    I went to college in Boone, NC and it’s a small mountain town that makes an excellent location for wellness retreats! The Art of Living Retreat Center has various types of retreats that include Ayurveda yoga, mindfulness and meditation, spa treatments, speakers like Dr. Ramani (who talks about narcissistic abuse), and so much more for amazing self-care getaways.

    You can also host your own retreat at The Art of Living Center. The center serves vegetarian meals and it’s close to all kinds of hiking areas and nature, plus a labyrinth and more. They also offer pottery and cooking classes for an additional charge.

    The Omni Grove Park Inn – Asheville, North Carolina

    The Omni Grove Park Inn is one of my favorite places to visit (I grew up some years living in Asheville). I love to go during the holiday season to see the decorations and gingerbread house competition, and to sit by the gigantic fireplace sipping hot cocoa!

    I have toured the spa area, and it’s definitely a dream wellness destination where you can make your own solo getaway. The gorgeous, huge subterranean spa combines the four elements and has cavernous rock walls with little water areas and gemstones, arches and tunnels. There is also a mineral relaxation pool, music, fiber optic lighting and more.

    Besides the spa, there are multiple dining options that are amazing, a sports complex with fitness equipment and classes, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, pickleball and racquetball, a golf course, hiking trails and more.

    Hilton Head Health – Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

    Hilton Head Health is a top-rated weight loss wellness retreat center that offers custom plans for nutrition and fitness. They have a spa, gourmet dining, and more.

    The center offers multiple options for wellness retreats and weight loss programs, plus customized experiences so guests can do what works for them.     Rock Springs Retreat Center – Nashville, Tennessee

    Rock Springs Retreat Center is home to a number of wellness retreats including the Fit Farm Fitness Retreat, Hiking Retreat, and more as well as custom retreats.

    The center is surrounded by nature so you can take part in outdoor activities, and you’ll have access to certified personal trainers, nutritionists, and more specialists as well as on-site produce for meals and personalized meal plans.

    Seven Springs Retreats – Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

    Seven Springs Retreats is a family owned and run retreat center that offers custom and ready-made wellness retreats. Some options include the gender-inclusive Embody Retreat, women’s-only Nourish Retreat, Forest Therapy Guide Training Retreat, Yoga and Hiking Retreat and more options.

    Menla Resort – The Catskills, New York

    Menla Resort is a project of Tibet House USA, which is the Dalai Lama’s North American cultural center, and it’s located deep in nature near a stream. It is inspired by Tibetan Buddhism. There’s a spa, hiking, yoga, meditation, Tibetan healing therapies, and more wellness experiences.

    You can choose from a variety of retreat offerings here as well, such as women’s-only retreats, yoga retreats, fungi foraging, activism, a writing and intuition retreat, a Ashtanga and Yin Yoga with Vedic and devotional chanting retreat, and many more options.

    You can also choose to create your own getaway and host retreats at Menla. The cuisine comes from the on-site gardens.

    Honor’s Haven Retreat – The Catskills, New York

    YO1 Longevity & Health Resorts is more than just a wellness center, it’s a center for all kinds of health needs from anxiety management, to pain management, to weight management, diabetes management and much more.

    You can go for a getaway and your stay includes complimentary access to many of the on-site offerings, or you can choose from a variety of retreats and health programs. The center uses Eastern healing practices and traditional Indian therapies and you can get personalized treatment for your needs.

    There truly are so many offerings at this unique wellness center, you’ll have to check it out for yourself! They even have a movie theater and museum on campus, plus an Olympic-sized pool.

    Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection – Hudson Valley, New York

    Wildflower Farms is an amazing NYC escape, so close to the city yet in an entirely different setting with nature. There are hiking trails and organic cuisine, animals, tennis courts, the spa, and more. There is a meditation pavilion with daily sessions, daily yoga sessions, sacred land with nature near a black-sand beach, and three locally-sourced meals a day that are organic, vegan and gluten free.

    The location is also close to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, thermal pools and more places.

    Lumeria Maui Retreat Center – Maui, Hawaii

    Lumeria Maui Retreat Center is an educational retreat center with yoga, meditation, healing arts, metaphysical studies, horticulture, Hawaiian culture and dance therapy and more. There are daily classes you can enroll in as a guest as well as retreats you can join. There is a spa and farm-to-table meals offered.
